|
Constructive Triangles
- Boxes
(חושים) |
|
The
Cylinder Blocks provide the first stage (introduction) of experiences in visual
discrimination of size. Grasping of the knobbed cylinders indirectly
prepares the child for writing by developing the three finger grip. They are
made of solid beechwood that is finely finished for quality appearance and
years of service. Recently re-designed, the block has slightly rounded edges
and each cylinder is individually sanded
and lacquered. Progresses in diameter from thin to thick. |

The
Constructive Triangles give the child
practical experience in plane geometry. They are called “constructive”
because the child sees the triangle as the element which forms other
rectilinear figures. The set consists of two rectangular boxes, one
triangular box, one small hexagonal box, and one large hexagonal box, each
containing triangles of differing size, shape and color. |
|
Geometric Solids (חושים)
|
Broad (Brown) Stair (חושים)
|

The
Geometric Solids introduce the
child to solid geometry. The set contains one each of the following
solids: cylinder, cube, ellipsoid, cone, sphere, squarebased pyramid,
triangular-based pyramid, ovoid, rectangular prism and triangular prism.
Also included are three clear stands for the curved-sided solids. |

This
series of prisms demonstrates to the child the change in width (breadth),
while the length of 20 cm remains constant. Further practice with the Broad
Stair indirectly prepares the child for concepts in plane geometry, area and
volume. The hardwood prisms are crafted in precise progressions from 1 x 1 x
20 cm (thin) to 10 x 10 x 20 cm (thick). |

Set of Knobbles Cylinders

Bases For
Geometric Solids
(חושים)
|
|
The
Knobless Cylinders are the final stage
(application) in the dimensional material where the child places in order
the sets of
cylinders based upon his abilities to discriminate. The cylinders have
interrelationships in size that are revealed to the child as he works with
the sets in combination. The Knobless Cylinders set
consists of 4 boxes, each containing 10 cylinders. The four sets are each
contained in a separate beechwood box with the lid painted the same color as
the cylinders. |
This
material is used to link the three dimensional Geometric Solids to their
corresponding two dimensional plane figures. The set includes five plane
figures with box.

Third Box of Color
Tablets
(חושים) |
Constructive Blue Triangles
(חושים) |
|
The
final stage in color discrimination is grading the shades of color.
Eventually, the child will learn the terms connected with his visual
discernment, i.e., dark and light and the comparatives and superlatives. The
Third Box of Color Tablets contains 63 tablets representing nine colors in
seven graded shades of red, blue, yellow, green, purple,
orange, brown, pink and gray. |
This
series of cubes develops visual discrimination of size in three dimensions.
Exploration with this material prepares the child for mathematical concepts
in the decimal system, geometry and volume. The Pink Tower consists of ten
wooden cubes painted pink and graduated in increments from 1 cm3 (small) to
1000 cm3 (large). |
|
Sound Boxes
(חושים) |
Number Rods (חשבון)
|
|
The
Sound Boxes develop auditory discrimination through exercises in pairing and
grading a series of sounds.
This item consists of two sets of 6 sealed wooden cylinders containing
materials that make a distinctive sound when shaken by the child. The
cylinders are graded from very soft to loud.
|
The
Number Rods introduce the child to quantity 1-10 and
their corresponding number names. Through exploration withthe
material, the child also develops
concepts in sequence of number,
combinations of 10 and basic arithmetic.
The material consists of ten wooden rods,
divided into units by alternating colors of
red and blue, progressing in ten equal
steps from 10 cm to 1 meter. |

The
Sandpaper Numerals introduce
the
child to symbol 0-9 and their
corresponding number names. By tracing
the numerals in the style and direction in
which they are written, the child is
preparing for writing numbers. The 10
rough sandpaper numerals are mounted
on smooth green boards. |
|
Spindle Boxes
(חשבון)
|
Hundred Board With
Control Chart(חשבון)
|
|
This
Spindle Box provides practice in
associating quantity and symbol for all the
numbers 0-9.
The Spindle Box is crafted from solid
beechwood with a natural finish. 45 loose wooden spindles are included with
this material.
|
An
enjoyable counting activity that reinforces the sequence of numbers from 1
to 100. The Hundred Board is used by placing the wooden chips in sequence on
the board. The material consists of 100 printed wooden chips stored in a
wooden box with lid and a wooden board with 100 squares printed on it.

|
Addition Equations
and Sums Box(חשבון)
|
|

In the
final stage of number work 1-10 the
child applies his skills in associating
quantity and symbol by identifying and
placing the numerals in their proper
sequence and then associating the
corresponding amount of counters
beneath them. The pattern in which they are placed is used to introduce the
concept of odd and even. The set includes
a box with lid and two compartments
containing 55 red wooden counters and
red wooden cut-out numerals 1-10.
|
This
two-compartment box with lid contains plastic chips, one set with equations
printed on them and one set with the answers to be used with the Addition
Working Charts. All the equations and sums for the addends 1-9 are included. |

Bow Frame(כישורי
חיים)
|
Large Fraction
Skittles With Stand(חשבון)
|
|

Through
activities with the Dressing Frames, the child develops coordination,
ability to concentrate and skills of independence. The Dressing Frames are
constructed of hardwood with durable material securely attached for
workability and longevity. |
The
Large Fraction Skittles represent divisors of 1⁄2, 1⁄3, and 1⁄4 and are used
with the Fraction Circles to work equations in division. The set is
constructed of hardwood in different colors.

|
Globe of the Continents(גאוגרפיה):
|
Zipping Frame(כישורי
חיים)
|
|

With
this globe, the concept of continents is reviewed with the child and the
continents are named. The activities with the globe lead to work with the
puzzle maps.
